Seiko Mod Hands — Compatible with NH35/NH36 & NH7x
7 hand sets designed for Royal Oak and Nautilus-style Seiko mod builds. Choose from V1 polished sets with mirror-finished surfaces, V2 brushed sets with satin centers and C3 lume, or the Elongated set proportioned specifically for the Royal Oak 41 mm case. Every set fits all NH-series movements including the NH35, NH36, NH70, NH71, and NH72. Available in silver, gold, and rose gold.
Movement compatibility: All hand sets fit the full NH35 family (NH35, NH36, NH38, NH34 GMT) and the NH70 skeleton family (NH70, NH71, NH72). The pinion sizes are identical across all Seiko NH movements.
Case fit: V1 and V2 sets work in all Nomods cases — Seikonaut, Petrichor, Royal Oak 37 mm, and Royal Oak 41 mm. The Elongated set is specifically proportioned for the Royal Oak 41 mm case, where the longer minute hand reaches closer to the chapter ring.
Watch out: When matching hands to a skeleton dial, choose a hand color that contrasts with the movement bridges for readability. Silver hands on an NH72 (dark bridges) offer the best legibility.
How to Choose Your Hands
V1 Polished vs. V2 Brushed: The V1 sets have a full mirror polish on every surface, which catches light and gives a dressier look. The V2 sets feature brushed center links with polished edges and applied C3 SuperLuminova for nighttime legibility. If your build prioritizes a clean, dressy aesthetic, go V1. If you want better lume performance and a more tool-watch feel, go V2.
Color matching: For the most cohesive look, match your hand finish to your case and dial. Silver hands pair with silver cases, silver index dials, and waffle dials on neutral cases. Gold hands look best with gold or two-tone cases. Rose gold hands complement rose gold cases and warm-toned skeleton dials. Mixing metals intentionally — like silver hands on a gold skeleton dial — can also work, but keep it to two tones maximum.
Elongated set: The Elongated hands were designed for the Royal Oak 41 mm case specifically. The minute hand is longer than the V1 and V2 sets to account for the 41 mm dial opening, so the hand tip reaches the chapter ring properly instead of floating short in the middle of the dial. If you are building a Royal Oak 41 mm, the Elongated set gives the most balanced proportions.
Beginner recommendation: The V2 Brushed Silver set at $28 is the safest first choice. Silver is the most versatile color, the C3 lume makes the watch practical for everyday wear, and the brushed finish hides minor installation marks. Pair it with any solid or skeleton dial and any NH movement. See the build guide for hand installation instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do these hands fit both NH35 and NH72 movements?
Yes. All seven hand sets use the same pinion dimensions that fit every Seiko NH-series movement — NH35, NH36, NH38, NH34 GMT, NH70, NH71, and NH72. You do not need different hands for different movements.
What is the difference between V1 and V2 hands?
V1 hands have a full mirror polish on all surfaces for a dressy, reflective look. V2 hands have a brushed satin center with polished edges and include C3 SuperLuminova lume for glow-in-the-dark legibility. V1 is more formal; V2 is more practical. Both cost $28.
Which hand set should I pick for my first build?
The V2 Brushed Silver set is the most versatile starting point. Silver matches every case color, the C3 lume adds real-world functionality, and the brushed finish is forgiving during installation. If you are building a Royal Oak 41 mm, consider the Elongated set instead for better proportional fit.
Can I use the Elongated hands in a 37 mm case?
Physically the pinions fit, but the minute hand is proportioned for the 41 mm dial opening. In a 37 mm case, the hand tip may extend too close to the edge or overlap the chapter ring, which looks off-balance. The V1 or V2 sets are the correct proportion for 37 mm and 40 mm cases.
