The Royal Blue Nautilus Skeleton Dial brings a rich, saturated blue to the skeleton format. The brushed surface carries a deep royal blue tone inspired by luxury sports watch dials, with polished beveled edges that frame the skeleton cutouts in bright contrast. Through the openings, the NH70, NH71, or NH72 movement is visible beneath the blue surface. Designed in-house by Nomods at 30.8 mm, this dial fits Seikonaut and Nautilus-style cases. The blue-to-silver interplay between the dial surface and exposed movement creates a striking depth effect. C3 Super-LumiNova on the markers ensures readability after dark.

Note: This dial is made specifically for the NH72, with dial feet positioned for a direct fit into the movement. When using a grey spacer ring, the dial foot holes may be covered, so a small cutout in the spacer might be required. Feel free to reach out for quick and easy guidance.

Movements: NH70, NH71, and NH72 skeleton movements only. The royal blue surface is designed to contrast with the silver-toned skeletonized plates visible through the cutouts. Non-skeleton movements like the NH35 and NH36 would show a solid rotor behind the openings, removing the visual depth this dial is designed to create.

Cases: The 30.8 mm diameter fits the Seikonaut Ultra-Thin Nautilus case directly, and the Royal Oak 41 mm case with a spacer ring. The royal blue pairs well with silver, gun metal, or two-tone case finishes.

Hands: Any NH-series hands will fit. Silver hands provide classic contrast against the blue, while blue-accented or white hands add a cohesive color theme.

Designed by Nomods

The Royal Blue skeleton dial is a Nomods in-house creation from the color series. Achieving a rich, consistent blue on brushed steel is more difficult than it appears — the brushing direction, coating thickness, and curing process all affect the final hue. Nomods developed this specific royal blue through iterative testing to land on a tone that reads as deep and saturated without shifting toward purple or teal under different lighting. The polished beveled edges along the cutouts and outer rim provide a mirror-bright frame that amplifies the contrast between the blue surface and the silver movement underneath.

Frequently Asked Questions

What movements fit this royal blue skeleton dial?

The Seiko NH70, NH71, and NH72 skeleton movements. The silver skeletonized plates of these movements contrast with the royal blue surface for a striking blue-and-silver depth effect through the cutouts.

Can I use this with an NH35?

Not recommended. The NH35 has a solid rotor and non-skeletonized plates, so you would see solid metal through the cutouts instead of exposed mechanics. The blue-and-silver layered effect only works with a skeleton movement.

What case color pairs best with royal blue?

Silver is the most popular pairing — the brushed silver Seikonaut creates a classic blue-dial sports watch look. Gun metal and two-tone cases also work well. Gold cases can create a bold, luxury-inspired contrast if that is the look you are going for.

What is the difference between 28.5 mm and 30.8 mm dials?

They fit different case sizes. The 28.5 mm is standard for SKX and smaller Seiko mod cases, while 30.8 mm fits larger cases like the Seikonaut Nautilus and Royal Oak 41 mm. Our dial size guide covers the details.
