The matte gunmetal coating over 316L stainless steel gives the case a subdued, tool-watch presence while silver hands and indexes provide the contrast needed to read the time against the exposed NH72 skeleton movement. The dark case makes the movement’s golden bridges the primary visual anchor on the dial. The Petrichor is a Nomods original design, and this gunmetal variant was created for anyone who wants the skeleton aesthetic in a darker, more assertive package. The matte gunmetal coating absorbs light rather than reflecting it, giving the 37 mm case a quiet, technical presence on the wrist. Against this dark backdrop, the silver hands and indexes stand out clearly, but the real focal point is the NH72’s exposed golden bridges — the contrast between the cool gray case and the warm movement mechanics draws the eye inward. The domed sapphire crystal enhances this layering effect, creating visible depth between the crystal surface and the movement beneath. Gunmetal also hides scratches better than black PVD because the underlying steel is closer in shade to the coating.

How does the 37mm Petrichor wear compared to a 40mm or 41mm watch?
The Petrichor wears noticeably more compact than a 40–41 mm watch. The integrated bracelet and 11.6 mm thickness keep it close to the wrist without the overhang you get from larger cases. On a 6–7 inch wrist it looks proportional and refined. If you prefer larger, Nomods offers 41 mm skeletons in the Royal Oak range.
Is the gunmetal bracelet the same color as the case?
Yes. The integrated bracelet and case share the same matte gunmetal coating, creating a seamless transition from case to wrist. The bracelet clasp and center links are finished to match.
Can I swap the skeleton dial for a regular dial?
Yes. The Petrichor accepts any 28.5 mm dial and any NH-series movement. You can replace the skeleton dial with a solid dial and swap the NH72 for an NH35 or NH36.
