Royal Oak 37mm Skeleton – Gunmetal

Regular price€279,95
/

The Royal Oak 37 mm NH72 Skeleton is built around a fascination with mechanics and proportion. The open-worked NH72 movement is left fully exposed, allowing the structure and motion to speak for themselves. A sapphire crystal with a flat exterior and domed underside draws light into the movement while keeping the watch slim and well balanced on the wrist. Carefully assembled and refined with intention, it’s a skeleton Seiko mod focused on clarity, restraint, and respect for the craft.

Complete Your Build

Dark gunmetal gray case and bracelet, skeleton dial, NH72 automatic movement — the Royal Oak 37mm Gunmetal is the stealthiest build in the 37mm range. The DLC-style gunmetal coating gives the 316L stainless steel case a matte industrial finish that absorbs light instead of reflecting it. At 37 mm with 11.2 mm thickness, this is a compact, low-profile skeleton watch that doesn’t shout for attention. Sapphire crystal front, mineral exhibition caseback, 100 m water resistance. Fully assembled.

The gunmetal finish was chosen for modders who want a darker, more industrial alternative to polished steel or gold. The coating is applied over 316L stainless steel for corrosion resistance underneath the matte surface. The silver-tone hands and indexes create a deliberate contrast against the dark case — enough to maintain legibility in low light without breaking the monochrome palette. This is the Royal Oak 37mm for people who wear dark clothes and prefer watches that blend in rather than stand out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the gunmetal coating scratch or wear off?

The gunmetal coating is durable for daily wear. Like any coated watch, deep scratches can expose the steel underneath. Avoid abrasive surfaces and metal bracelets on the same wrist. If durability is your top priority, the Silver version in natural stainless steel shows wear less visibly.

What makes this different from the 41mm Gunmetal?

The 37mm version has a noticeably smaller case, thinner profile (11.2 mm), and integrated bracelet design. The Royal Oak 41mm Gunmetal has a larger case and different bracelet construction. Both use the NH72 skeleton movement and sapphire crystal. Choose 37mm for wrists under 17 cm.

Is the caseback see-through?

Yes. The caseback uses a mineral crystal exhibition window. You can see the NH72 movement’s rotor, bridges, and gear train from the back. The front skeleton dial also shows the movement through the dial side, giving you a view from both directions.
