The Seiko NH36 adds a day-of-the-week display to the proven NH35 platform. Manufactured by TMI (Time Module Inc.), a subsidiary of Seiko Instruments, the NH36 shows both the day and date through a combined aperture, making it the right choice for dials with a day-date window. It shares every other specification with the NH35 — same 21,600 bph frequency, 24 jewels, 41-hour power reserve, hacking seconds, and hand-winding — so if you already trust the NH35, the NH36 is its day-date counterpart.

Specifications

Compatibility

The NH36 is mechanically identical to the NH35 in size and mounting, so it fits every Nomods case: the Royal Oak 37 mm, the Royal Oak 41 mm, the Petrichor, and the Seikonaut. The only difference is the day wheel, which requires a dial with a day-date cutout instead of a date-only window. If your dial has a single date aperture, use the NH35 instead.

Dial sizes: 28.5 mm dials for the Royal Oak 37 mm and Petrichor cases · 30.8 mm dials for the Royal Oak 41 mm and Seikonaut cases

Hands: All Nomods hands are compatible with the NH36 movement. Crown sits at 3 o’clock.

What’s Included

  • Seiko NH36A movement (fully assembled with rotor)

Why This Movement

The NH36 exists for builds where the dial features a day-date window. It is the same proven platform as the NH35 — same frequency, same jewel count, same power reserve, same hacking and hand-winding — with the addition of a day wheel that displays the day of the week alongside the date. Nomods uses the NH36 in builds where the customer selects a dial with a day-date aperture, or when the design calls for that extra information on the dial. If your dial only has a single date window or no date window at all, stick with the NH35 or NH38 instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use an NH36 with a date-only dial?

Technically the movement will fit, but the day wheel will be hidden behind the dial since there is no aperture for it. If your dial only has a date window, the NH35 is the better choice — it is the same movement without the day wheel, so the date still aligns correctly at three o’clock.

Will the NH36 fit my Nomods case?

Yes. The NH36 has the same dimensions as the NH35 and fits every Nomods case — Royal Oak 37 mm, Royal Oak 41 mm, Petrichor, and Seikonaut. Pair it with a 28.5 mm dial for 37 mm and Petrichor cases, or a 30.8 mm dial for 41 mm and Seikonaut cases.

How accurate is the NH36 movement?

The factory specification is ±20 seconds per day, identical to the NH35. Most units run within that range out of the box, and a watchmaker can regulate it further for improved accuracy. The day-date complication does not affect timekeeping performance.
