Seikonaut – Black PVD Skeleton Mod with Silver Dial and Black Strap (40mm)

This 40mm Seikonaut build delivers a striking mix of stealth and refinement, combining a full black PVD case with silver hands and indexes over a fully exposed skeleton dial. The contrast gives this piece incredible legibility and a sharp, modern look.

Inside beats the Seiko NH72 movement, one of the best skeleton calibers available for modding. Unlike typical Seiko Nautilus open heart designs, which reveal only a small part of the movement, this version removes the dial entirely — offering a full view of the gear train, balance wheel, and bridges in motion.

It’s a clear step up from a standard Seiko dial, giving you a living, breathing mechanical centerpiece on the wrist. The black rubber strap keeps the look cohesive and wearable, while the PVD-coated case adds a stealthy luxury finish that resists scratches and daily wear.

Compatible with other high-quality Seiko mod watches components, this build is all about clarity, movement, and bold contrast — a true favorite among modders who want presence without flash.

If you are having a hard time removing the screws from the bracelet, take the case and bracelet under some warm soapy water and wiggle each link back and forth. This will clean out residue from production which makes the screws easier to remove and improve the bracelet quality over all

AR coating stands for Anti reflective coating and reduces the reflection in the crystal enhancing visibility. Blue AR has a slightly tinted reflection while Clear AR has not.

No it does not! Our 37mm Royal Oak Seiko Modding case arrives as one complete case, and is ready to house a movement straight from the box.

In order to make this Seiko Mod Case as thin as possible, there is limited room in the back of the case. Therefore some custom NH35 rotors do not fit. Pay close attention to the respective rotor. Does it exceed the height of the middle screw? If yes then it may be too thick for this case.

We recommend a 28.5/29mm dial for our 37mm Royal Oak Case. The typical 31.8mm mod dials that many Royal Oak Mod Cases use are too big.
