Seikonaut – Black Skeleton Mod with Rosegold Dial & Gray Strap (40mm)

This Seikonaut build pairs a deep black PVD case with elegant rosegold dial components and a muted gray rubber strap — a color palette that balances visual warmth with everyday versatility.

The watch runs on the Seiko NH72 skeleton movement, offering a fully exposed view of the gear train, balance wheel, and golden bridges beneath. Unlike a standard Seiko Nautilus open heart, which shows only part of the movement, this layout reveals everything — making the mechanics the center of the design.

Rosegold hands and markers offer rich contrast over the open dial, while the gray strap tones down the visual intensity, giving it a sleek, modern profile. Built around a 40mm case, this configuration fits seamlessly into any high-end Seiko mod watches build plan.

It’s a major aesthetic and functional upgrade over a classic Seiko dial — perfect for modders seeking that skeleton look with sharper edges and a more subdued finish.

If you are having a hard time removing the screws from the bracelet, take the case and bracelet under some warm soapy water and wiggle each link back and forth. This will clean out residue from production which makes the screws easier to remove and improve the bracelet quality over all

No it does not! Our 37mm Royal Oak Seiko Modding case arrives as one complete case, and is ready to house a movement straight from the box.

In order to make this Seiko Mod Case as thin as possible, there is limited room in the back of the case. Therefore some custom NH35 rotors do not fit. Pay close attention to the respective rotor. Does it exceed the height of the middle screw? If yes then it may be too thick for this case.

We recommend a 28.5/29mm dial for our 37mm Royal Oak Case. The typical 31.8mm mod dials that many Royal Oak Mod Cases use are too big.
