The V2 Ultrathin Royal Oak case in rose gold — warm, pinkish-gold PVD over 316L stainless steel with a remarkably slim 9.95 mm profile. The rose gold finish shifts between copper and pink depending on the light, giving the angular octagonal bezel and integrated lugs a softer, more luxurious character than the standard silver or black options. At 37 mm diameter with 48 mm lug-to-lug, this case sits comfortably on a wide range of wrist sizes. Sapphire crystal with blue or clear AR coating, screw-down signed crown, 100 m water resistance. Compatible with NH35, NH36, NH38, NH70, NH71, and NH72 movements. Choose solid or exhibition caseback.

Why the V2 Ultrathin

The V2 is the second generation of our Royal Oak 37mm platform, re-engineered for a thinner case without compromising 100 m water resistance. At 9.95 mm with the solid caseback, it sits closer to the wrist than most Royal Oak-style Seiko mod cases, which typically exceed 11 mm. The rose gold PVD finish was developed to complement the NH72 skeleton movement’s golden bridge tone — when paired with a rose gold skeleton dial, the case, dial elements, and visible movement mechanics share a unified warm palette. The angular geometry and polished rehaut capture the AP Royal Oak’s design language at a fraction of the cost.

Build Guide

Difficulty: Moderate — standard Seiko mod build. Recommended tools: caseback opener, hand press or hand setting tool, stem cutter, movement holder, and rodico.

Key notes: Handle the rose gold PVD surface with care during assembly — use a movement cushion or soft cloth to avoid scratching the case. The exhibition caseback adds 0.35 mm to the total thickness. Cut the crown stem precisely before installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What movements fit this case?

The Royal Oak 37mm V2 case accepts Seiko NH35, NH36, NH38, NH70, NH71, and NH72 movements. These share the same case fitment and crown position. The 7S26 and 7S36 are not compatible.

Will the rose gold PVD coating scratch?

PVD coatings are durable for daily wear. Deep scratches can expose the silver steel underneath, which would contrast with the rose gold surface. Normal desk wear and everyday contact will not affect the finish. For maximum scratch tolerance, the brushed silver case has no coating to wear through.

What is the difference between solid and exhibition caseback?

The solid caseback provides the thinnest profile at 9.95 mm. The exhibition caseback adds a sapphire window to display the movement, increasing thickness to 10.3 mm. Both maintain 100 m water resistance. Exhibition is popular with NH72 skeleton movements where you can see the rotor and bridges from the back.

How does the V2 compare to the V1?

The V2 is thinner — 9.95 mm compared to the V1’s thicker profile — and features improved case finishing with sharper bevels and a more refined brushed texture. The overall dimensions and movement compatibility remain the same.

What Inspires This Case

The Rose Gold Royal Oak 37mm Seiko Mod Case was developed as a warmer take on the classic Seikoak design language. Most Seiko Royal Oak mods focus on steel or gunmetal finishes, but we wanted to create something that stands out without losing the clean geometry of the original shape. The brushed rosegold surface softens the industrial lines, while the polished edges add depth — giving the whole case a subtle, jewelry-like quality that changes with the light.

This case was designed specifically for Seiko modders building Seikoak Mods who appreciate proportion, texture, and balance. It keeps the same integrated-lug architecture and sharp facet transitions, but introduces a softer tone that pairs beautifully with skeleton dials, brown or champagne faces, and gold-accented hands.

Why 37mm Is Perfectly Proportioned

The 37mm Seikoak case size came after months of experimenting with different dial-to-case ratios. With 28.5mm OEM Seiko dials, this dimension felt the most natural — the dial sits centered, the rehaut alignment is clean, and the watch carries the same balanced stance as vintage Royal Oak references.

For Seiko modding, 37mm offers the right mix of visual proportion and technical compatibility. It wears comfortably on most wrists, keeps the lines tight, and allows NH35, NH36, and NH72 builds to maintain proper spacing and depth. It’s not oversized or bulky — just a compact, well-measured foundation for any Seiko Royal Oak mod project.
