The Seikonaut NH72 brings mechanical transparency to an ultra-thin integrated case. The open-worked NH72 movement is left visible, allowing light to pass through the movement architecture while maintaining a slim, controlled profile on the wrist. Carefully proportioned and thoughtfully assembled, it combines structural clarity with everyday wearability—offering a skeleton Seiko mod that feels deliberate, balanced, and technically resolved.

Complete Your Build

Gold-tone Nautilus case and integrated bracelet with the NH72 skeleton movement fully visible through an open dial — this 39.5 mm build pairs the warm PVD gold finish with in-house skeleton dial and hands developed by Nomods. The gold coating over 316L stainless steel extends from bezel to clasp, and the NH72’s natural golden bridges align with the case tone for a unified metallic look. Sapphire crystal, 100 m water resistance, fully assembled and ready to wear.

Designed by Nomods

We selected the PVD gold shade specifically to match the NH72 movement’s natural golden bridge tone. Most gold skeleton watches have a visible color mismatch between the case and the movement — the case reads bright yellow-gold while the bridges read warm champagne. This build eliminates that gap: case, hands, indexes, and movement bridges share the same warm metallic character. The skeleton dial and hands were developed in-house with brushed textures that follow the movement’s bridge angles, inspired by Artisans de Genève’s approach to skeletonized movements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this real gold?

No. The case and bracelet are 316L stainless steel with a PVD gold coating. PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is more durable than traditional gold plating — it resists scratches and holds its color through daily wear. The look is gold-tone at a fraction of solid gold’s price.

Does the gold case match the movement’s bridge color?

Yes, closely. We selected this specific PVD shade to align with the NH72’s natural bridge tone. When you look through the skeleton dial, the case, hands, indexes, and movement bridges share the same warm metallic character — something most gold skeleton watches at this price point do not achieve.

How does this compare to building a gold Nautilus from parts?

Building from individual parts typically costs a few hundred dollars plus tools, and requires stem cutting and gasket seating — the two most common first-build mistakes. This watch arrives fully assembled with factory-seated gaskets, quality-checked alignment, and our in-house skeleton dial and hands. See our Nautilus cost and build guide for a full cost breakdown.
