The Seikonaut NH72 brings mechanical transparency to an ultra-thin integrated case. The open-worked NH72 movement is left visible, allowing light to pass through the movement architecture while maintaining a slim, controlled profile on the wrist. Carefully proportioned and thoughtfully assembled, it combines structural clarity with everyday wearability—offering a skeleton Seiko mod that feels deliberate, balanced, and technically resolved.

Complete Your Build

Full black Nautilus with the NH72 skeleton movement visible through a blacked-out open dial — the darkest build in the Nautilus range. The 39.5 mm case and matching integrated bracelet are coated in black PVD over 316L stainless steel, giving the entire watch a stealth, monochrome presence on the wrist. The skeleton dial and hands, developed in-house by Nomods, feature brushed textures inspired by Artisans de Genève’s skeletonization work. Sapphire crystal, 100 m water resistance, fully assembled and ready to wear.

Designed by Nomods

The all-black Nautilus was built for modders who want a watch that disappears into a dark wardrobe. The black PVD coating covers every external surface — case, bezel, bracelet, crown — so there is no silver peeking through at the edges. The skeleton dial and hands were developed in-house with a brushing direction that follows the NH72 movement’s bridge angles. Against the dark case, the exposed movement’s golden bridges create the only color contrast, drawing the eye to the mechanics at the center. We use C3 Super-LumiNova applied at 150 microns for visibility in low light.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the black PVD coating scratch or wear off?

PVD coating is durable for daily wear, but deep scratches can expose the steel underneath — and on a black watch, silver scratch marks are more visible than on a natural steel finish. Avoid abrasive surfaces. If scratch visibility is a concern, the Nautilus Skeleton Silver shows wear less noticeably.

Can I swap the bracelet for a rubber strap?

Yes. Yes, you can swap the bracelet for a compatible strap. Browse our straps and bracelets collection for options. A black rubber strap maintains the stealth look while adding comfort for daily wear.

What makes this different from the Silver Nautilus Skeleton?

Same NH72 movement, same 39.5 mm case dimensions, same sapphire crystal, same in-house skeleton dial and hands. The difference is purely cosmetic: this build has a black PVD coating over the entire case and bracelet, giving it a monochrome stealth look. The Silver version is natural stainless steel with brushed-and-polished finishing. See our Nautilus cost and build guide for a full comparison.
