The Black PVD Index Nautilus Skeleton Dial delivers a stealth-forward look with matte black PVD-coated indexes against exposed skeleton cutouts. The dark finish lets the movement underneath become the visual focus — polished gears and bridges stand out against the blackened frame. Designed in-house by Nomods, this 30.8 mm dial is built for the NH70, NH71, and NH72 skeleton movements. C3 Super-LumiNova on each index provides contrast in daylight and glow in the dark, and the dial feet are positioned for 3 o’clock crown placement to fit Seikonaut, Nautilus-style, and Royal Oak 41 mm cases.

Compatibility

Movements: NH70, NH71, and NH72 skeleton movements only. The black PVD finish is specifically designed to contrast with the silver-toned skeletonized plates of these movements. Using a non-skeleton movement like the NH35 or NH36 would show a solid rotor through the cutouts instead of exposed mechanics.

Cases: The 30.8 mm diameter fits the Seikonaut Ultra-Thin Nautilus case directly, and the Royal Oak 41 mm case with a spacer ring. The matte black finish pairs particularly well with the Black PVD Seikonaut for a full blacked-out build.

Hands: Any NH-series hands will fit. Black or silver hands both work — black for full stealth, silver for legibility contrast.

Designed by Nomods

This stealth dial is a Nomods in-house design. The matte black PVD coating is applied evenly across every index for a consistent, non-reflective finish that absorbs light instead of bouncing it. The result is a dial where the movement becomes the centerpiece — the polished steel of the skeleton movement contrasts sharply against the blacked-out frame. Lume is applied beneath the PVD layer on each index, so the C3 Super-LumiNova charges and glows without being visually obvious during the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What movements work with this black PVD skeleton dial?

The Seiko NH70, NH71, and NH72 skeleton movements. These have skeletonized plates and an open rotor that contrast with the matte black PVD frame of this dial. The exposed silver movement against the black dial creates the visual effect this design is built around.

Can I use this with an NH35?

Not recommended. The NH35 has a solid rotor and non-skeletonized plates, so the cutouts would show solid metal rather than the exposed mechanics that make a skeleton dial worth using. Use an NH70, NH71, or NH72 instead.

Will the PVD coating scratch or wear off?

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) bonds to the steel at a molecular level, making it significantly more durable than standard plating. Under normal wear, the matte black finish will hold up well. Avoid contact with abrasive tools during installation to keep the coating in perfect condition.

What cases fit this 30.8 mm dial?

The Seikonaut Ultra-Thin Nautilus case (direct fit) and the Royal Oak 41 mm case (with spacer ring). The Black PVD Seikonaut case is the best match for a full blacked-out build. See our dial size guide for more on 30.8 mm compatibility.
