A brushed metallic gray dial with guilloché waffle texture, designed in-house by Nomods. The gray finish has a cool, industrial tone that sits between the brightness of the white waffle and the depth of the blue — neutral enough to work with every case color in the Royal Oak 37mm V2 range. The waffle pattern catches light differently across each cell, adding visual texture without competing with the hands or markers. At 28.5 mm diameter, this dial drops directly into the Royal Oak 37mm V2 and Petrichor 37mm cases. Compatible with NH35 and NH36 automatic movements. Applied markers with C3 Super-LumiNova for low-light legibility.

Designed by Nomods

This waffle dial is an original Nomods design. The guilloché waffle texture is precision-stamped into the brass dial blank before the brushed metallic gray finish is applied. Unlike flat-printed dials, each cell of the waffle grid has physical depth that interacts with light as the wrist moves. The gray metallic finish was chosen specifically for its neutrality — it matches silver, gunmetal, black PVD, gold, and rose gold cases without creating color conflict. This makes it the most versatile pairing option in the waffle dial lineup. The industrial tone also complements the angular geometry of the Royal Oak bezel, reinforcing the sports-luxury aesthetic without relying on a bold color statement.

Frequently Asked Questions

What cases fit this dial?

The 28.5 mm diameter fits the Royal Oak 37mm V2 case and the Petrichor 37mm case directly. It does not fit the Royal Oak 41mm or Seikonaut cases, which need 30.8 mm dials.

What movements are compatible?

This dial works with the Seiko NH35 and NH36 automatic movements. Both are solid-rotor, non-skeleton movements. For skeleton builds, you need a skeleton dial with cutouts designed for the NH70, NH71, or NH72.

What is the difference between a waffle dial and a skeleton dial?

A waffle dial is a solid dial with a stamped guilloché texture that creates a grid pattern across the surface. It covers the movement entirely. A skeleton dial has open sections cut away to reveal the movement underneath, and is designed for skeleton movements like the NH72. Waffle dials pair with NH35/NH36; skeleton dials pair with NH70/NH71/NH72.

Can I use this dial in a Nautilus or Seikonaut case?

No. The Seikonaut case requires a 30.8 mm dial. This waffle dial is 28.5 mm and will not fit. For Nautilus-style builds, see our 30.8 mm dial collection.
