Petrichor 37mm Case – Rose Gold

Regular price$195.00
/

In a sea of homages and look-alikes, the Petrichor offers a fresh and distinctive foundation for your next Seiko mod. Heavily inspired by the best of 1970s horology, the case combines key design elements such as a domed sapphire crystal, oversized crown, and quick-adjustment buckle—balancing character, wearability, and function.

Complete Your Build

The Rose Gold Petrichor brings warmth to our original case design. The same 37 mm platform with its vintage-inspired curves, domed sapphire crystal, and low-profile silhouette — finished in rose gold PVD over 316L stainless steel. The rose gold tone shifts between pink and copper depending on the lighting, giving the case more visual depth than a single flat color. This is a Nomods original design, not a homage to any existing watch. Built for NH35 and NH36 movements with a 28.5 mm dial opening, ready for your custom build.

Compatibility

Movements: NH35 and NH36. The Petrichor is designed primarily for these two movements. The NH72 skeleton movement also fits, sharing the same physical dimensions. If you want a skeleton build in rose gold, pair this case with an NH72 and a 28.5 mm skeleton dial.

Dials: 28.5 mm. Rose gold pairs well with warm-toned dials — chocolate, champagne, or rose gold skeleton dials for a monochromatic look. Darker dials like black or dark blue create stronger contrast.

Hands: Any NH-series compatible hands (hour 1.50 mm, minute 0.88 mm, seconds 0.20 mm). Rose gold hands will match the case; silver hands create a two-tone effect.

What’s Included

  • Petrichor case body (316L stainless steel, rose gold PVD finish)
  • Domed sapphire crystal (pre-installed)
  • Crown (screw-down)
  • Gaskets (pre-installed)
  • Integrated stainless steel bracelet (rose gold PVD)

Tools are not included. You will need a case opener, hand press, stem cutter, and movement holder for assembly.

Designed by Nomods

The Petrichor is an original Nomods design, and the rose gold version highlights what makes it different from cases in the modding market. Where most PVD-finished cases use angular, modern shapes, the Petrichor’s flowing 1960s-inspired contours give the rose gold coating more surface area to play with light. The curves catch and release light gradually rather than in sharp facets, which makes the rose gold read as richer and more nuanced than it would on a flat-sided case. The domed sapphire crystal follows this same philosophy — a curved surface that keeps the profile low while adding visual depth from every angle. Each case is checked for PVD consistency and finishing quality before shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions

What movements fit the Petrichor case?

The NH35 and NH36 movements. The NH72 skeleton movement also fits, as it shares the same case dimensions as the NH35. Other NH-series movements with the same footprint are compatible.

What dial size fits the Petrichor?

28.5 mm dials. This includes Royal Oak style dials, waffle dials, and other aftermarket 28.5 mm dials made for NH35-based builds.

Will the rose gold PVD finish scratch or wear off?

PVD coating is significantly more durable than electroplating and holds up well under normal daily wear. Deep impacts against hard surfaces can leave marks that expose the steel underneath, which would appear silver against the rose gold. For assembly, use soft-jaw tools or wrap contact points to protect the finish.

Is the Petrichor a Royal Oak homage?

No. The Petrichor is an original Nomods design. It draws inspiration from the broad aesthetic of 1960s and 1970s case design but does not replicate any specific watch. The curves, proportions, and details are our own.
